Introduction
The Hoshiarpur Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. was established on 27.07.1910 with ten individual members and working capital of Rs. 3750/-. Now bank is having share capital of Rs.1442.01 Lakhs
The area of operation of the bank is entire district comprising of 10 blocks. The District consist of four tehsils namely Hoshiarpur, Dasuya, Mukerian, Garhshankar. The Balachaur tehsil of this district was transferred to newly formed district of Nawanshahr in 1996 and consequently six branches of this bank were merged in Nawanshahr Central Cooperative bank Ltd., Nawanshahr. At present, besides,Head Office 64 Branches and 2 Ext. Counters of the Bank are working in entire District. At present there are no individual members of the bank. The individual members are enrolled only as nominal members and they have no voting rights. Only Cooperative Societies can become the member of the bank and enjoy the right to vote.
